Tablì redefines single-serve coffee around a single, essential element: a coffee tab made entirely of 100% coffee, without the need for any protective covering for coffee extraction. At its core is a “coffee tab” made entirely of 100% coffee, without using plastic, aluminium, coatings, or additives. The coffee itself becomes the format, reducing waste at the source while preserving coffee quality and the user experience.
The dedicated machine extends this approach through its form and function. Utilizing post-consumer recycled plastics and applying a structure focused on low energy consumption and repairability, it considers not only the usage phase of the product but its maintenance as well. By designing the coffee tab and the machine as a single system, material changes are translated into actual changes in how it is used.
The user's process of preparing and extracting coffee is also carefully designed. An intuitive operation is enabled by the integrated slider interface on the machine, and the height-adjustable cup rest accommodates cups of various sizes. The transparent water tank makes it easy to check the remaining water level, enhancing usability. Each element goes beyond mere decorative form, reflecting both the functional necessities and sensory experiences required when preparing and drinking coffee.
Tablì consists of a cohesive product ecosystem encompassing not only the coffee tab and machine, but also packaging, accessories, and connected technology. Going beyond the eco-friendliness of individual products, it aims to reduce unnecessary material and energy consumption across the entire process of making and using coffee while simultaneously elevating the user experience and product craftsmanship.
Starting from the removal of the conventional product format known as the capsule and connecting materials, the machine, the interface, and the user experience into a single system, Tablì demonstrates that sustainability does not have to be a condition that limits product function or experience, but can serve as a design starting point for creating a new coffee experience.
